Snowflake challenge - Days 10-11-12
Jan. 14th, 2018 11:05 amI'm a few days late! The challenge led me to comment and review much more than I usualy do, my "to read" list increased tenfold and I'm way behind many things I meant to do, but here we go! ^^
Day 10
In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme. (Or a few!) Tell us what makes it work for you, and why it appeals to you so much. Talk about what you like to see in fanworks featuring that theme most. Feel free to include recs and examples! Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I have a weakness for get-together/first time fics... I can't really ship if I can't see how they would get together in the first place, how they would manage to fit... and it's often a moment of tensions (sexual, or emotional, or both), of inner resistance, of changes and consequences, not only for the characters themselves, but also in relation to the 'verse around them...
It's get-together fics between Naruto and Sasuke that got me into slash, and for now I have never written a shipping fic without writing the get-together first... (which sometimes leads me to writing long-ass fics I can't finish, I'm sorry... ^^)
And clearly, if the get-together is well written, then you can get me into any pairing you want :D

Star Wars, surely, in a very litteral way: I wouldn't be with my boyfriend of 12 years, whom I met on satrwars-universe.com, and I wouldn't live where I live now... I wouldn't have some of the same friends, and my experience of fandom would be quite different as it was my first real fandom, and one I spent a long time in, where I wrote almost 100 pages of unpublished fanfic, started to read in english and started t be fluent, had my first ships, my first meeting of online peoples...
I may not be in the fandom anymore, but without Star Wars there would be so many changes in my life, I can't really map them all! :)
Day 12
In your own space, create a fanwork. Make a podfic, an icon, a sketch, a meta, or a rec list. Arts and crafts. Cross stitch. Draft an essay about a particular medium. Put together a picspam or a fanmix. Write a review of book you love, a ship manifesto, a you-should-be-listening-to-this-band essay. Create something. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I'm a bit short on time... (she write, before writing 1600 words in one afternoon and spending way too much time calculating the number of days it would take to a small, fast-moving party to ride from King's Landing to Winterfell...) So let's try one of the prompt I got in the UST meme (in french, sorry, but it's still open if you want to) and the written kitten writing website I saw recced on one of the previous days:
