Inktober Days 1 to 3

I'm late for the reposting of the first three days of my Inktober.
I wanted to scan them as I go, but I think this will be too time consuming. So I'm posting the social media pictures for now, and will archive for good later, all in one go. I haven't yet found the good rythm and will try to manage my time (and my sleep) better for the rest of the week.


Day One: Koi

I followed the "water" prompt of french inktober for this one... And I'm actually very happy with it even if I had a few technical troubles.... And someone I know IRL has expressed interest to buy it, which now makes all the mistakes all the more glaring to me. ^^
But I'm happy with it anyway, and it's a style I'll probably revisit.






Day two: A thouthand kisses deep

A relatively quick one. I had trouble with the faces, but I'm happy with the overall result, and the composition and its double heart. Ces' tittled this one THE GAY AGENDA. :D
This is also the first design of my inktober that could easyly be used for silk printing.

Day three: Cats are always thoughtful about that

This drawing made me realize that I find persian cats rather ugly. :D
I'm happy with the overall result, but had trouble with making the red really flat (should have picked a bigger brush), the gold as regular as I wanted it and I ran out of ink in my pentel brush mid-black cat and had to switch to regular brush and black ink. :D

Doing swirls and wavy lines is one of my favorite things to do with a pentel brush, so I try to make use of it. :D

The koi one is so neat! I love the dark swirly lines and how well it contrasts against the splashes of colour on the fish. Great effect.

I almost stopped before adding the colour, it was really interesting as well, in a different way. Just the white shape of the fish in a sea of swirls.

These are so expressive! My favorite is the koi, with the swirling lines, but they're all beautiful.

Oh, these are beautiful! I love the expressions on A thousand kisses; they really seem close and intimate. The koi one is my favourite, though. I love the way the lines all swirl together, and then the koi is defined mostly by negative space but with these wonderful splotches of colour.

Oh, lovely! I agree about Persian cats, too scrunch-nosed for me. The koi pic is amazing, and the Gay Agenda is clever and touching.

I didn't knew I had advices about persians until I had to draw some! :D But to be fair I kind of dislike all those poor crossbred species that got short noses and respiratory issues just because the breed standards deem it so.
