Inktober: days 6 to 16
Oct. 16th, 2018 10:12 amA very late posting. I had ups and downs this past week but I managed to be regular and paradoxicaly only missed days during the week-end, when I have time and tends to do two drawings on sunday. ^^

Nikita Gill

Victor Hugo - Les misérables
Enjolras was a charming young man, who was capable of being terrible. He was angelically handsome. He was a savage Antinous. One would have said, to see the pensive thoughtfulness of his glance, that he had already, in some previous state of existence, traversed the revolutionary apocalypse.

Robert Louis Stevenson

I reused day 11's technic for the sky. :)
Space whales: classic, but always a hit... And also my most populat post ever on tumblr with +500 notes. Someone even expressed interest to get it as a tattoo... We will see how it goes. ^^

Number two of the soon to be Elements series.

And a post-drawing doodle decause I didn't feel like being done. :)

Le comble, utiliser la traduction anglaise d'un haïku en français... mais impossible de retrouver le poème d'origine. Si quelqu'un le connais ?

Inktober 2018 Day 6 : Cerbère & Perséphone

Inktober 2018 - Day 7 : Johnatan Livingston
// Flying
Inktober2018 - Day 8: 93% stardust
We have calcium in our bones, iron in our veins, carbon in our souls, and nitrogen in our brains. 93 percent stardust, with souls made of flames, we are all just stars that have people names.Nikita Gill

Inktober 2018 - Day 9 : Antinoüs farouche

Date: 2018-10-20 10:52 pm (UTC)I really love the Cerberus and Persephone one--the juxtaposition of this absolutely giant, kind of monstrous figure, and the clothes which signal antiquity, with the lovely, almost domesticity of the interaction--I love it <3
I love the touches of colour against the greyscale in the seagull one; it somehow brings it to life and really gives it the feel of flying, if you know what I mean? Maybe it creates more of a feeling of distance, or maybe it suggests the sea or the sky, I'm not sure, but that's definitely the effect it has for me.
I love the concept of the diamond woman one <3 Likewise the fine detail on the tentacles against the mass of black ocean and the thicker motions suggesting the waves, and likewise the space whale, which is a trope I adore. I love the way you've filled the background with little splotches of white, which could be clouds in the sky...or their reflection in the water <3
Last but not least, I really like the colour of the apple against the simple black outlines in Le verger! I think it definitely captures the contrast between the reddening apple and the oncoming cold.

Date: 2018-11-26 10:15 am (UTC)I decided to experiment more with the inky background technique, there is a few more drawings of the same kind on my instagram, and I'll probably make more: https://www.instagram.com/artofclem/
