I wrote and drew for Ravage, the Hannibal fan anthology exploring the circles of Dante's Inferno... And now the kickstarter for the book is live and has been funded in 5 hours! It looks like the Hannibal fandom is still living and thriving!:)

The book will be hardcover and over 400 pages... And I must say it looks very good! I love the black edge coloring. :) I can't wait to have it and to discover all the fanart and fanfic the 115 other contributors have created for this project.
I also learned totay that all the fics in the anthlogy will be pocficced, which is a wonderfull surprise.<3

Voici les aperçus de la fic et des fanarts que j'ai soumis pour l'Anthologie Hannibal "Ravage".
Comment ça je me suis un peu laissé emporter ? :D
Ils ne seront sans doute pas tous dans le livre final, mais ce n'est pas grave, je me suis éclaté à bosser dessus... Même si maintenant qu'ils sont terminés je vois un milliard de choses que je ferais différemment. :D
Le bouquin sera pour 2019 mais j'ai hâte de voir ce que ça donnera, j'ai eu des aperçus et c'est assez intimidants, il y a vraiment des auteurs et artistes excellents qui ont bossé dessus. Le fandom Hannibal est vraiment incroyable pour ça. :) <3

They are only submission and may not all be in the anthology… but I had tremendous fun working on this project and digging at the theme, with such wonderfull artists and writters. Hannibal fandom is really the best. I can’t wait to see the book.

- There is a very cool discussion about characterization going on

fictional_fans about the 3-points that we consider the core of a character - the defining traits, without which the character isn’t the character anymore.
It’s obviously very personal and there is no “right” answer, but I tried my hand at Hannibal and John Reese in the comments.

- I now have a Pillowfort account (thanks Berylia) under my usual handle. My fannish experience is already a bit too fragmented for my liking these days, so I'm not sure if I want to add a new plateform to it, but we will see if I choose to stick with it in the end or not. Fo now DW is still very much my favourite place to hang out, even if Discord has proven interesting.

- I have submited my Ravage Anthology pieces (three of them! I was on fire). And even if I plan to maybe make a few minor modifications on one of the drawings if it's not too late, I now can't quite manage the motivation for anything else even if I want to write or draw in theory. I am doing the Murder Husbands Big bang as an artist but am waiting from feedback from my writer and in the meantime I'm just poking at things and achieving nothing either fannishly or irl, it's a bit frustrating.

- I'm both looking forward and dreading Inktober a bit. The 31 day run was a bit exhausting last year, but very rewarding too. I haven't yet decided how I'll play it: follow the prompts? (I don't find them very insipiring for now), choose a theme? do a full quotetober like last year? For now the options are open.

- In french : le challenge n'est pas tout à fait fini mais il y a plein de super fics postées pour Obscur-echange, dont certaines que j'ai vraiment adorées. Je n'ai pas encore tout lu et je ne connais pas tous les fandoms, mais je recommande déjà dans le désordre et de manière non exhaustive :
- The good and proper place (The Good Place, Elehonor/Tahani),
- Tu es la maîtresse du mal de mon cœur (Galavant, Gareth/Madalena et Sid),
- Une mémoire de métal (Le Chateau dans le Ciel, un robot),
- Une voie tracée (Lastman, Elorna) .
- Petit (Le livre de la jungle, Bagheera et Mowgli)
- Voyager dans le temps et plus si affinités (Deadpool, Cable/Deadpool, Negasonic/Yukio, Wolverine)
Par contre je suis un peu attristée devant le ratio fic/commentaire !
Et je ne sais pas qui est Nzinga du Matomba (bon, en vrai j'ai peut-être une toute petite idée mais aucune certitude), mais il ou elle a une productivité incroyable (13 fics !!!?), et ses fics sont toutes super sympa o__O.
Et y'a une fic sur Adamsberg aussi ! Faut que je la lise. :)

Ça fait un moment que je n'ai pas posté ici, ma "vraie vie" a été très très remplie tout le mois de Juin, où j'ai fait tenir 32h de cours de sérigraphie sur les week-end du mois (il faut que je fasse un poste de récap à l'occasion) et où j'ai visité plein d'apparts à vendre... et les week-ends de début juillet ont été complètement blindés entre un mariage et un séjour en Bretagne...

Du coup ce week-end étais le premier de libre depuis longtemps, et je l'ai bien mis à profit !

- Je me suis remis à ma fic pour l'anthologie Hannibal Ravage et tout le début me plaît beaucoup, ça s'imbrique enfin beaucoup mieux. C'est dur d'écrire du Hannibal sans flirter avec la purple prose et l'excès de métaphores, et c'est très dur d'écrire les fins !

Le point de départ de cette fic est Terribilita, un texte que j'avais écrit en français, autour de la toile "Dante et Virgile", mais que j'ai repris et déployé autour du thème de la fraude... évidement en anglais.

On a dark red-brown background two naked men are entwined, fighting with each other, tremendous and terrible. Strong fingers are digging into pale flesh, muscles are bulging, distorted by the tension, the twist of the bodies. One of them, ferocious and red-headed, is standing above the other, dragging his head back, on the verge of bitting into the exposed throat. The savagery of it is heartstopping.
“Dante et Virgile, de William Bouguereau,” says Hannibal à la française, the words easy on his tongue.
“They are amazing,” answer Will to the unvoiced appraisal.

- J'ai terminé (enfin) mon illustration Les Dents de la Merfer (fanart d'un bouquin de China Mieville) qui était dans mes cartons depuis février. Il était temps de le finir donc même si je me suis un peu loupée sur le ciel/les nuages, j"ai décidé qu'il était bouclé.
C'est un format trop grand pour tenir dans mon scanner à la maison, donc je le scannerai au bureau, en attentant voici une photo un peu floue par endroit :

- J'ai aussi quasiment bouclé le lineart d'une de mes deux illustrations pour Ravage. Comme je ne suis pas sûre de savoir faire honneur à mon idée principale j'ai commencé par l'illustration la plus "simple", afin de pouvoir travailler sur l'autre l'esprit tranquille une fois que la première sera finie. Enfin je dis simple, mais j'ai déjà passé plus de 3h dessus et je n'ai pas encore fait la couleur (qui heureusement sera pour le coup vraiment simple.)
Je pense que je finaliserai le lineart demain, que je scannerai au boulot lundi (en cas d'accident avec l'original, on ne sait jamais), et puis je ferai la couleur à l'encre dans la semaine.
Par contre il y a embargo sur les visuels, donc je ne peux vous mettre que ce petit aperçu

Et demain je me remet à la sérigraphie, parce que ça fait deux semaines que je n'ai pas eu une seule seconde pour m'y mettre depuis que j'ai acheté tout mon matériel et il faut que je pratique, sinon je vais tout oublier.

I hadn't written anything Naruto in ten years, and then the Zine Eternal Rivals gave me the opportunity to write those two crazy ninjas... and to indulge in outsider's POV, which is a favorite of mine and even funnier when the outsider is a talking dog. <3

He gets summoned during a joint mission between Gai’s and Kakashi’s teams and is greeted by a theatrical bellow to the tune of “Ho, Kakashi, my Eternal Rival! So Modern, so Talented that you can summon Mighty Allies!” (Well, at least he can recognize quality when he sees it, thinks Pakkun…)

So, I have been selected to take part in Ravage, a Hannibal fanbook in the line of the beautiful and amazing Raw and Radiance…
Ravage will be centered around the circles of Dante’s Hell, and I will be making art (and maybe writting fic) for the Fraud and Rudeness sinners’ Circle… A good fit to Hannibal indeed. ;)
I’m very excited and very intimidated too… And also already ploting my next visit to Orsay Musem for *research purposes* :D :D

So it will be two fanzine this year, against zero fanzine the 30 previous years. It's never to late! :D

For those who would be interested, the pre-orders are now open for Eternal Rivals, the Kakashi/Gai fanzine I wrote a story for at the beginning of the year! \o/
It was my first 'zine participation, my first Kakashi/Gai story (though I have long enjoyed the pairing) and my first Naruto story in many many years! I had a lot of fun writing it from Pakkun's point of view: I adore stories built around outsider's POVs, and a cynical ninja dog was obviously just the perfect narrator for this story! :D
I'm very happy that

chonaku pointed me toward the submissions when they opened and that

sunlit_stone accepted to beta-read and helped me polish and better the story. <3

The arts preview for the 'zine are looking great and I can't wait to have it! The preorder are running until April 30th, and here is the tumblr post if you want to reblog!

So, I have written my Kakashi/Gai story for the fanzine… in less than one week! :D :D
(Are you impressed? Because I’m very impressed with myself.^^)
It is a hundred words over the 3000 words limit, and it needs a good reread before I send it in SPAG beta, but it is technically done! :D
For now it is tentatively called “Diary Of A Ninken” (it is from Pakkun's point of view), but I think it is a bit dull as a title and I'll try to find something a bit funnier. :)

Writing this story made me fall in love with this pairing all over again... and also check out a number of Natuto wikis for timeline details: I have now decided I'm never ever going to bother finishing the show, and this line is part of the fic: "By the fifth occurrence of resurrection, Pakkun decides he is getting too old for this shit."
So, you know...

Also I'm having a lot of feelings about ninja's summons: what exactly are they? What do they do when they are not being summoned? Where do they live?? Why are they loyal to a village?
So many questions... ^^

Ça fait genre 10 ans que je n'ai pas écrit Kakashi et Gai ! Et in faut que ce soit EN ANGLAIS en plus !!!! Je sais que dans mes objectifs de fandom 2018 d'écrire au moins une fic en anglais, mais la barre vient de monter super haut d'un coup... O_o
Bon, au moins j'ai une petite idée de ce que je pourrais raconter... Si je ne change pas d'idée d'ici là... #panique
